Our home has a 225 foot stone driveway which went downhill toward the house. For many years we had to break 2 to 3 inches of ice at our garage door and near the house at least 20-30 times each winter because our house faces North where the sun doesn’t shine and the ice would continue to pile up all winter. Any ice melt ended up right at our house and frequently went in our basement.
The Summer of 2020, Greg & Tim came out and looked at it. I was sure it would require major excavation of the earth to knock down the hill in the driveway to the road to get the water to drain away from the house. But Greg and Tim, and Tom the owner, have 105 years of collective experience between them and they came up with a plan that cut the cost of the project to less than half of what I had projected.
When they were completed, they had hauled in large clean white stone for the first 100 feet of the Eastern side of my driveway and then provided a gentle slope to the driveway that went from West to East as they layered the asphalt from North to South. The following day it rained for 24 hours straight and as the water came down hill toward the house, all of it slowly made its way in multiple streams toward the large white stone which was placed strategically to prevent erosion. Any water that came near the house stopped 8 feet away and drained gently into the stone.
My wife and I could not have been more satisfied. Asphalt Specialists not only solved our water drainage problem but they did it in a way that cost less than half of the projected cost and produced a final product that was less intrusive and very beautiful in the end. Many thanks to Tom, Chris, Greg, and Tim for the outstanding work and customer service.
